Transport and warehousing specialist, GMA, today announces that it has won a two-year sole operator contract with DHL, one of the UK’s leading logistics and transport providers, and global exporter, Muntons.
The contract, live this month, will see GMA dedicate a number of vehicles and trailers as it manages the container export movement from Muntons flagship operational base in Stowmarket to the port of Felixstowe.
Robert Smith, DHL contract development manager comments: “We appointed GMA following a competitive tendering process based on the company’s ability to add value, meet our high standards and their close proximity to the A14 corridor.”
GMA will focus on ensuring a seamless operational process throughout the supply chain and maintaining high customer service levels and attention to detail.
Jay Kamat, business development director of GMA comments: “We have worked hard to develop a deep understanding of the business and forge strong relationships with our contract partners. We are excited to be working with DHL and East Anglia’s leading suppliers of malts and malted ingredients, Muntons.”
Muntons export their products to over 76 countries around the world, with over 86,000 tonnes shipped overseas last year. That’s the equivalent of over 4,000 individual container movements.
Independently owned, GMA provides a comprehensive range of national logistical services including; storage, curtain sided distribution, container transport and specialised heavy transport, plant, machinery and project cargo.
